SUMMARY:Storytelling Boston's Literary Past: The Enduring Conversation with Phillis Wheatley Peters
DESCRIPTION:The Boston Literary Salon’s Spring 2026 Series\nStorytelling Boston’s Literary Past:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nToday’s novelists and poets on retelling Boston’s literary history\nBoston has an incredibly rich literary history: the first printing press in the Colonies\, the first published authors in the Colonies\, author who formed the American novel\, the hub of 19th century publishing\, and the origin of Transcendentalism. But Boston’s literary past continues to influence and inspire today’s novelists and poets. Let’s explore that connection. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach event will feature: \nan author conversation and Q&A • guided small group discussion \nsnacks\, drinks\, and desserts • a signature literary cocktail \nconversation and connection • a curated selection of books to purchase \nJessica A. Kent of Literary Boston will be in conversation with these authors exploring how Boston’s literary history continues to inspire and influence creative writers today.
